Known simply as Lee by his family is now one of the most celebrated male fashion designer worldwide, he was born on 17th March 1969 leaving school in 1975 at age 16, to work as an apprentice for Mayfairs and Savile row the historic centre of British menswear, first with Anderson and Shepperd and then Gieves and Hawkes where he learned tailoring technique.
He later Moved onto pattern cutting with Angles and Bermes the theatre costumier form age 20 where he moved onto working as pattern cutter for a London based Japanese designer Koji Tatsuno before moving to Milan to join Romeo Gigli a designer whom he look upto due to his romantic designs.
Mcqueen later moved back to London to finish with a MA in fashion designs at central Saint Martins. This is where he drew inspiration from history and learned how to be a fashion designer, his graduate designs received a lot of press coverage for adding historical art into his coats.

This Tuxedo speaks historical references from London and fashion stylist Isabella Blow purchased his entirety.
His inspiration came from the victorian era, nineteenth century mixed with gothic a hint of who he was, but he always knew he was gay as in his biography gay as not the old fashion term for happy, but the modern term for homosexual men. Mcqueen mentioned he once won a fashion contest but felt the other boy should have won because he fancied him.
But that is his personal life and not his professional life as a fashion designer, even though he did mention and it can be found in his biography in the blood skin by Andrew Wilson – Mcqueen described meeting italian born fashion designer in Milan whom he received work experience about being fashion designer he said and was struck how Romeo was popular and well loved and said this is because the fashion designer as the person is the first person and the clothes are secondary.
Which i agreed as it was with my my number 1 favourite fashion designer Lady Dale Elizabeth Harper Tryon also known as Kanga, i first had misconceptions and believed any false rumors aimed at her.But i now critique the 2008 documentary that claimed her to be prince charles other mistress. Tabloids press can be tough, sensationalised and false narrative writing she was a mistress good on her husband for passionately defending his Australian jewel, saying she wasn’t a mistress.
Back to the London born fashion designer and his creative pursuits in his biography his family always mentioned he would dress up his siblings and create garments for them.
Also him facing being a young homosexual man in his time was tough, but he must have also been closer to his mother shortly before her death in 2010 he committed suicide in his London flat.
