Stunning architecture is centuries old and the battle of the war of roses, also a monarchs imprisonment.

Welcome to Clitheroe castle a place that links in with the famous Lancaster Castle, and you’re about to find out why also referring to the witch trail. Clitheroe was also a main part of Lancashire during the war of Roses. Also rest assured that Castle Street is close by near the clitheroe market and market st, filled with pubs, cafes and butchers and there are some stunning boutiques or if you prefer to shop at charity shops Clitheroe Market st and castle st have a lot of charity shops. If you you are preparing for wedding mainly if you are the bride their a quite few wedding dress boutiques, to hair salons.

So the moment you step out of the train or bus, near the train/ railway station is a map of clitheroe and take a picture of it you may need do ask at the help centre right outside the railway station.

Now lets dive deep into the 17th century and how clitherore castle like Lancaster castle helped me to built a short story during the witch trail.

To your left you would make your way inside the castle which has been renovated into the museum which was very nostalgic and informative, neatly designed.

This is the war memorial area where the duke of Lancaster planted and took part in opening the war memorial in memory for all those we have lost in world war one.

When you are at the top you can even see the shops from down here.

And another block that Lancaste castle has too about the witches.

Did you know king Henry 6th was imprisoned at the clitheroe castle during the war of roses.

This is known as the labyrinth of clitheroe castle park.

Did you also know that Women who where accused of witchcraft where also imprisoned here before being taken to Lancaster castle to be executed.
